The export of services in the Republic of Uzbekistan is formed mainly from transport services and during January-August 2021, the export of transport services in the total volume of exports of services took the leading place with a share of 70,5% (1 135,2 mln. USD).

The export of transport services in Uzbekistan is represented by six main types: transportation by rail, road, air, pipeline transport, as well as postal services and courier services, other related and auxiliary transport services.

During this period, the volume of export of transport services increased by 1,2 times (by 240 018,5 thousand USD) compared to the corresponding period of  2020. The increase was due to air - 130 322,8 thousand USD, pipeline - 85 231,3 thousand USD and railway transport - 23 434 thousand USD.

In the overall structure of the export of transport services, the largest share after pipeline transport (41,2%) is accounted for by rail (33,5%) and air transport (21,4%).

The growth in the export of transport services is achieved mainly due to the provision of freight transportation services by rail and passenger transportation by air.

Thus, the volume of exports of freight rail services during January-August 2021 increased by 22 670 thousand USD (106,4%) compared to 2020 and amounted to 375 838,9 thousand USD. This increase is due to the fact that the spread of COVID-19 did not so much affect the activity of cargo transportation by rail, and in order to prevent a slowdown in the processes of foreign trade transportation, intensified measures were taken to reorient part of the volume of international road transport to rail.

In air transport, there is an increase in passenger traffic by 67 478,9 thousand USD (almost 2 times) and amounted to 136 654,5 thousand USD due to the resumption of some international flights.
